Nowadays, few families can boast of the family coat of arms. But you can create your own individual coat of arms. It should be an emblem with certain symbols that are described in heraldry. The family coat of arms denotes the history of the clan, its merits and reflects the main life priorities of the family.
Instructions
Step 1
Draw a shield. Its shape depends on your choice. The more complex the configuration of the shield, the more the necessary heraldic elements will fit on it. Most often, shields are in the form of a rectangle. Draw a sword on the shield that can be placed in the middle. There may be a helmet above the shield. The most ancient noble families claimed the golden helmet, and the less noble families had silver helmets.
Step 2
Place the crest over the helmet. These can be feathers, wings, an animal figure, horns, knightly armor, and other items that characterize your family. The presence of the crest, as an auxiliary element, shows the general heraldic line.
Step 3
Choose the color of the crest, it should match the color of the shield. Don't forget to draw the robe. This is a mandatory attribute of the coat of arms. It denotes the protection of the clan. You can decorate the gown with fur or tassels of golden thread.
Step 4
Place figures in the form of heraldic animals (griffins, lions, eagles, angels) on both sides of the future coat of arms. At the bottom of the emblem, place a platform - the base on which it will hold, for example, a marble pedestal. Instead of a base, you can use a tape on which you need to write the family's motto. This can be any phrase or aphorism that is of great importance to the genus. The color of the ribbon should correspond to the basic color tone of the coat of arms.
