Step 1
With the help of a double needle you will be able to: embroider, sew on braid, form tucks, make reliefs with a cord, hem a jersey. Depending on the type of fabric, they are classified into three types - jeans, wagon and stretch. The numbering of double needles differs from ordinary needles in that the gap between them is additionally indicated, expressed in millimeters. This accessory allows you to sew two patterns at the same time, parallel to each other. There is a possibility of threading the upper threads of different colors. Using narrow 1, 7 - 2, 6 mm needles will overlap the stitch patterns to create a shadow effect. For decorative stitches, use needles smaller than the maximum zigzag width on your sewing machine.
Step 2
You have the option of attaching a twin needle to the machine if it can sew with a zigzag stitch and provided that the threading is from the front. The distance between the needles will be equal to or less than the maximum allowable zigzag width initially allowed.
Step 3
Insert the twin needle into the sewing machine with the flat part of the holder towards the back and the round part towards the front. Place two spools in the space provided for them, which will unwind in different directions, otherwise you will get tangled and intertwined threads.
Step 4
Thread the twin needle. Do this in the standard way, driving simultaneously from the coils to the entrances to the ears, only at the last moment spread them in opposite directions. Then insert both threads into different thread guides. If there is only one on the typewriter, insert the first thread, release the second.
Step 5
For a zigzag or satin stitch, use the foot. Keep in mind that the thinner the fabric, the weaker the thread tension and vice versa.
