Funeral wreaths are sold today by all stores of ritual supplies. However, they are not satisfied with the quality. Sometimes you want to order or make yourself a very special wreath, expressing all the love, respect and sadness from the loss of a loved one. Such a wreath is best created from fresh flowers, symbolizing the fragility of the line between life and death. Correctly selected and prepared flowers will make it durable enough.

Instructions
Step 1
For a funeral wreath, choose large flowers - roses, calla lilies, chrysanthemums, gerberas, lilies, carnations, orchids. Sometimes the deceased's favorite flowers are included in this set.

The general rule of mourning compositions excludes variegation - stop at two or three shades. Contrasting combinations look best. Choose strict colors - red, purple, white, burgundy. Some shades of yellow and orange will work as well.
Step 3
Greenery acts as a background for flowers. Spruce branches are most often used for wreaths, but other options can also be included in the composition - pine, juniper, fern, salal leaves, ivy.
Step 4
Funeral wreaths are different - oval, round, triangular, cruciform, through or in the form of a shield, miniature and rather large. It is better to start with small wreaths - traditional round or oval on the shield.
Step 5
For any wreath, you need a base. It can be purchased ready-made, in a store of ritual accessories, ordered in a workshop, or made on your own. Professional florists recommend folding the corrugated tube base - it turns out to be quite light, but very durable. For small wreaths, a wire base is suitable.
Step 6
Draw the composition you are going to embody. Having decided on the appearance, calculate the required amount of material. It is better to purchase it with a margin - damage to several colors or broken hairpins are a common occurrence when creating a composition.
Step 7
The next step is color matching. Choose fresh, large pieces. Before fixing them in a wreath, they need to be watered - shortening the stems as much as possible, place the flowers in a container with water. Special solutions can be added to the water to prolong the life of flowers.
Step 8
Now start creating the wreath. Attach branches of greenery and flowers with special floristic hairpins, hiding the cuts of branches and stems. For greater reliability, flowers can be fixed with tape. Make sure that there are no bald spots in the wreath. Inspect the finished wreath from all sides, including from below and through the light. You may not have noticed some defects, but they will be visible to prying eyes.
Step 9
If you want to anchor a flower or branch on top of the composition without hiding the stem, consider how to disguise the hairpins. You may need a narrow tape in a contrasting shade.
Step 10
The final touch is to secure the mourning ribbon. On the wreath, which will be installed vertically, the ribbon is attached from above and tied to a bow. The long ends with the lettering will fall down the sides of the wreath. Small round wreaths can be wrapped with ribbon so that the inscriptions can be read.
