Almost every fisherman has a tackle with a non-inertia reel. A reel of this type must meet all the necessary requirements, since without this successful fishing cannot be seen. Such reels cost a lot, so usually fishermen purchase one and use it for several years. In order not to be mistaken in the choice, let's figure out what characteristics the inertia-free coil should have.
Instructions
Step 1
In order to choose a non-inertia coil that would meet all the requirements and serve you for more than one year, pay attention to the following characteristics.
Step 2
Gear Ratio and Coil Power The gear ratio affects the power of the coil - the smaller it is, the more powerful the coil is. This number is the ratio of the line stacker revolutions to the number of crank revolutions. This ratio can be different, so decide what kind of coil power you need and look at the gear ratio. They usually designate it like this - 5: 1 (for example). This means that the line stacker makes five revolutions per handle rotation.
Step 3
Spool Length and Diameter The longer the spool and the larger its diameter, the further you can cast lures.
Step 4
Number of bearings The more there are, the better the coil is considered to be. The reason is that the load on the rotating parts of the coil is more uniform. However, be careful - sometimes you can find spools of not the best quality with a lot of bearings. Details in them may be of low-quality materials. Try to stop your choice on the reels of already established companies.
Step 5
Friction brake This function allows the spool to turn when the force is applied to the line. With this feature, you can prevent the line from breaking when the fish resists. If the friction brake is of good quality, then the line descends smoothly without jerking. Adjust the mechanism and thereby strengthen or loosen the spool clamp - this way you have the opportunity to work with one reel, using lines of different diameters.
Step 6
Location of the friction brake It can be located in front or behind the reel. The choice depends solely on personal preference. Most anglers buy reels with a rear drag, although those with a front drag are considered more reliable.
Step 7
Instant Backstop This feature comes in handy when fishing with bottom gear. Thanks to it, you can fine-tune the nod. Please note that the less backlash, the better the coil.
Step 8
Line Guide Roller On quality reels, it is tapered and has a hard coating on the bearing. The roller helps to smooth out twists in the line.
