First of all, you should give preference to really high-quality candles from well-known manufacturers. Keep in mind that a candle with a natural fragrance will cost no less than 20-40 euros. If the cost of the candle seems very low, it means that synthetic additives were used in the production. It is not known how the smell of such a candle will affect your health.

When considering scented candles, pay attention to their surface. It should be absolutely smooth. This is a sign of excellent quality. Such a candle is made of mineral wax, which is able to reveal all the notes of the scent. If you decide to buy a candle in a "case", stop the choice on glass.

Check by turning the candle over how firmly the wick is attached to the bottom of the cup. It should be placed strictly in the center. In this case, the candle will not tilt during burning and will burn out to the end. To avoid buying a lead backed candle, rub the bottom of the candle against a piece of white, blank paper. Lead will leave gray marks.

Another rule of thumb when choosing scented candles is to pay attention to the material from which they are made. Mineral wax is considered the best. In contrast, vegetable wax is consumed much faster and does not retain the aroma well enough. Beeswax seems to be the most environmentally friendly, but it does not lend itself well to aromatization.
