Today, fishing as a hobby and an amateur sport is gaining more and more popularity. Fishing with a float rod is allowed almost everywhere and in any season. That is why it is especially common. One of the most important parts of a fishing rod that directly affects fishing performance is the float. To bind it is a whole art.

Step 1
Install a sliding float with a lower attachment point on the line. Products of this type are called "wagglers" (from the English wagglers). They are designed for long distance casting, which is usually done with a spinning rod with a spinning reel. The float should move freely along a small piece of line between two stops, which are slip knots, beads or lead pellets. Determine the required hook depth. Measure the desired distance from the end of the line. Fix the upper stopper in the resulting place. Pass the end of the line through the float attachment point (usually a carefully ground hole or metal loop). Attach the bottom stopper close to the end of the line, leaving room for weights and hooks.
Step 2
A rubber cambric is required to attach permanently fixed wagglers. Due to their ease of use, such products are becoming more common today. Unlike sliding floats, they are quite lightweight. Their design feature is the presence of a small plastic clamp threaded through the lower fixing loop. Cut a piece of rubber cambric of a suitable diameter with a length of 0.7-1.5 cm. Pass the end of the fishing line through it. Insert the float collar into the cambric. If there is no collar, it is permissible to put the cambric directly on the end of the keel of the float, if it has a small diameter.
Step 3
Fix a float with two attachment points on the line (according to the international classification, it will be of the stick floats type). A striking representative of this type of floats is the usual goose feather, although now a wide range of plastic analogs is presented in specialized stores. Cut off two narrow rings of rubber or PVC cambric. Thread the line through one of the rings. Slip it over the antenna of the float. Thread the line through the second ring and pull it over the keel. If there is a tie-down loop on the keel, run the line through and through it.
Step 4
Pole floats are quite expensive and high-tech products. But they are increasingly used by domestic fishermen. There is usually a small wire loop on the top of their case. When attaching the float, first pass the line through it. Cut a piece of rubber cambric of suitable diameter 0.5-0.7 mm long. Pass the line through it and pull it over the keel. Pass the end of the line through the loop in the keel.
