The G8 knot is used by fishermen and sailors. It is easy to tie, and besides, it is a stopper knot. It can be used to thicken the rope. Also, the "eight" is used by climbers and rock climbers.

Rope
Instructions
Step 1
Take the rope in your left hand and with your right hand create a closed loop by bending the rope in half. The free end of the rope is called the running end, and the other, respectively, is the root end.
Step 2
Bring the running end of the rope to the left, behind the root end.
Step 3
Rotate the rope around the root rope from below. Twist the rope around you, as it were. Many people know how to make this movement with one hand, deftly tossing the rope and threading the running end on the fly.
Step 4
Pull the rope out from the bottom and insert it into the upper loop from the side of the intersection, pull it out from you so that a "figure eight" is formed. This is a single "eight". As such, this knot is not used because it is easily untied. Therefore, in most cases, a "double eight" is used.
Step 5
Insert or wrap the end of the rope around the attachment point. So that the running end comes out from above, and the loop - "figure eight" remains at the bottom. Reverse mounting is also possible, but this option is more preferable and is more often used by climbers and mountaineers.
Step 6
Insert the free end from the fulcrum into the figure eight you made earlier. The rope is usually either threaded through a carabiner, or inserted into a fall arrest system, or wrapped around an iron pipe or any other support.
Step 7
Repeat "figure eight" threading the rope along the way of the previous one. Try not to twist, insert the free end from the inside so that the eights are completely parallel. It is important that the rope does not fray as a result of the load, moreover, such a knot will be easier to untie. Because after numerous breakdowns and hangs, it will neatly tighten and not twist.
Step 8
Pull out the free end of the rope by pulling lightly on it. The tip should not be too long or loose. It is simply inconvenient to tidy the tip too long, you can tie a control knot. If you are attaching the rope to a pole or a carabiner, you can tape the rope before and after the knot.
