As spelled out in the law "On Migration Registration of Foreigners in the Russian Federation", a citizen who does not have Russian citizenship and who arrives in our country is obliged to register. The list of documents required for this may vary depending on which country the foreigner is a citizen of, as well as on whether he has an invitation to Russia.

Instructions
Step 1
Upon arrival in the Russian Federation, you must register with the migration service. This must be done within three days of your arrival. Take your passport, which confirms your citizenship in the country where you permanently reside. If you have a residence permit, a work permit, if you will be working in Russia, present these documents to the migration authority of the region where you will be staying for a certain time.
Step 2
Make a statement. In the substantive part, write down your request for registration.
Step 3
The next day, employees of the migration service of Russia put down a mark on registration in your documents. In this case, you will legally stay on the territory of the Russian Federation. If you do not take the necessary action, do not receive registration on time, you will be deprived of the right to enter the country for five years, and a fine will be imposed - its amount varies from 2,000 to 500,000 rubles.
Step 4
If you are invited to work by a Russian company, all paperwork falls on that company. As a rule, a representative of the company presents your documents to the migration service. When the organization does not have the opportunity to personally submit the documentation, a notification letter is sent, which contains the address where you will be registered.
Step 5
If you do not have an invitation from either a Russian citizen or a Russian company, you must also register. Come to the migration office and show your passport. You have the right to register at the address of a hotel or other accommodation where you will be staying for a certain time. Please note that in this case, you must present a visa. The period of its validity is determined for a year, sometimes less than this period. At the same time, you will be able to register. If you are a citizen of one of the CIS countries, a visa is not required. In this case, you are entitled to register only for a period of up to three months.
