Double-sided tape is practically irreplaceable material in construction, installation and roofing works. In addition, it has found wide application in the packaging, automotive and apparel industries. Due to its high qualities, the adhesive tape allows you to reliably glue the necessary materials and objects to almost any surface. The only drawback is that it is extremely difficult to peel off the double-sided tape without damaging the surface to which it is glued.

Instructions

Step 1

Try to gently pry the tape off with a knife or blade. Sometimes this is enough to remove the remnants of the old tape. If this does not help, use one of the following methods:

Step 2

Purchase a special disc for removing double-sided tape from a store. Of course, it is not cheap, but it justifies its price, as it removes the tape without any problems, leaving no traces. Besides, one such disk will be enough for a very long time.

Step 3

Saturate the cloth with kerosene or white spirit. Place a cloth on top of the tape and rub it lightly. Once the tape is soft, pick it up and peel it off the surface. Remove all traces with the same alcohol or kerosene. Sometimes, in order for the adhesive tape to soften, you have to rub it for a very long time with a damp cloth. However, keep in mind that white alcohol can darken the paintwork.

Step 4

Warm up the tape with a hairdryer or regular rubbing. Once it gets warm, gently pry it off and slowly peel it off the surface. All traces left by the tape, wipe with a napkin moistened with alcohol.

Step 5

Get a special eraser from a store or house painter. Insert it into the screwdriver and use it to wipe off all the tape. Wipe the remaining traces with kerosene or alcohol.
