Many people associate the smell of spruce needles with the New Year holidays. Unfortunately, a live tree can quickly crumble in the dry air of an apartment. However, if you follow a series of simple guidelines, you can keep the tree fresh and prolong the holiday feeling in your home.

- - superphosphate.

Step 1
It is best to take care of the freshness of the Christmas tree even when buying it. If you buy a dried up tree, no amount of tricks will help return it to its original freshness. When choosing a Christmas tree, it is usually recommended to pay attention to the color of its needles. It should be bright green without yellowing. Spruce branches should be flexible, and when the trunk is tapped on the ground, the needles should not crumble from them.
Step 2
Wrap the previously purchased Christmas tree in wrapping paper, polyethylene or burlap and place on the balcony.
Step 3
Before decorating the tree, bring it indoors and let it gradually warm up without removing the packaging. When the tree is at room temperature, untie the ropes and remove the packing material.
Step 4
Peel the bark from the bottom of the trunk to a height of ten centimeters and update the cut. This can be done with a hacksaw. Sometimes it is recommended to slightly split the lower part of the barrel with a hammer. If there are branches on the part of the trunk that you peeled off the bark, cut them off.
Step 5
There are several common ways to sand and moisten it with settled water, adding a few crystals of potassium permanganate to it. Place the trunk of the tree in the sand so that the bark-free part of the trunk is below the level of the sand. The sand should be kept moist.
Step 6
You can put the tree in a nutritious water solution. To prepare it, add two teaspoons of ammonium nitrate, half a teaspoon of potassium nitrate and a teaspoon of superphosphate to a bucket of water. A tablespoon of this solution should be added to the water in which the tree stands every day.
Step 7
A nutrient solution prepared at the rate of three teaspoons of sugar and an aspirin tablet per liter of water can extend the life of the tree.
Step 8
Spray the tree every day with standing water and keep the tree away from hot batteries.
