Every self-respecting boat owner (be it a full-fledged boat or an inflatable one) sooner or later faces the need to replace the outboard motor. The place of purchase does not matter - registration must take place in a strictly established manner.
Instructions
Step 1
The information below applies not only to outboard motors, but also to inflatable boats with a carrying capacity of more than 225 kilograms.
Step 2
First, determine the specifications of your engine or boat. If the indicators obtained exceed the bar below which registration is not required, then you should register (put on record) the boat or motor at the local office of the State Inspection for Small Vessels (GIMS).

Step 4
In order to register your own floating craft, you must provide a list of documents proving that you have acquired the boat or motor legally. Below is a list of required documents:
1. Passport for the outboard motor (or boat), indicating the serial numbers, dimensions and technical characteristics.
2. Sales contract provided by the organization from which you purchased the motor or boat.
3. The act of acceptance and transfer from the selling organization to the present owner (ie you).
4. Waybill, cash receipt (or cashier's check)
Step 5
If you purchased the engine abroad, then you still have to prove the legality of its purchase, for which you should provide the relevant documents (this includes all kinds of technical passports, documents confirming the purchase, as well as documents confirming "customs clearance").
Step 6
Registration of a motor or boat can be carried out both at the place of your current registration, and at the place of parking of the floating craft.
Step 7
Be prepared for the fact that you may be asked to provide your OKATO code (stands for "All-Russian Classifier of Objects of Administrative-Territorial Division"), as well as the name of your municipality (MO).
