There are nine time zones on the territory of the Russian Federation. The main one is the Moscow time zone. It is this time that is taken as the starting point, television is guided by it, as well as train and airplane timetables.

Step 1
When morning falls in Moscow, the inhabitants of the Far East end their day. This is due to a time difference of eight hours. Each time zone has a special name and sets its own time relative to Moscow. Until August 31, 2011, there were eleven time zones in the country. But since the release of a new government decree, the number of belts has been reduced to nine. Therefore, in Yakutia, which used to be in three time zones, the time became uniform, and the Samara region completely switched to Moscow time.
Step 2
Kaliningrad time differs from Moscow time by one hour - MSK-1, that is, residents of Kaliningrad and its region wake up one hour earlier than Muscovites.
Step 3
Moscow time (MSK) or local Russian time is valid throughout the European part of the country. Cities such as Volgograd, Grozny, Kirov, Novgorod, Penza, St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk and many others live according to Moscow time.
Step 4
Yekaterinburg, as well as neighboring: Tyumen, Sverdlovsk and Orenburg regions, are in the Yekaterinburg time zone, where the time differs from Moscow by two hours (MSK + 2). Also, this time is set for residents of the Perm Territory, the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug and the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Step 5
The Omsk time zone includes the Omsk, Tomsk, Novosibirsk and Kemerovo regions, as well as the Altai Territory. In these zones, the time differs from Moscow by three hours.
Step 6
Always four hours more than in Moscow, in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republic of Tyva and Khakassia. These regions are in the same time zone and the Krasnoyarsk time is set for them (MSK + 4).
Step 7
The time in the Irkutsk region and the Republic of Buryatia differs from Moscow by five hours. Therefore, when it is noon in the capital, the residents of Irkutsk are preparing for the evening.
Step 8
All the territory of Yakutsk, the Republic of Sakha, the Amur Region and the Trans-Baikal Territory belong to the same time zone. The time difference with Moscow is six hours. Therefore, when it is six in the morning in Chita and Blagoveshchensk, it is midnight in the capital.
Step 9
The port city of Vladivostok is seven hours different in time from Moscow. This time zone also includes the Khabarovsk and Primorsky Territories, the Sakhalin Region and the Jewish Autonomous Region.
Step 10
When it is already midnight in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, in Moscow it is still three o'clock in the afternoon. Magadan time is eight hours more than Moscow time, this is the most remote time zone in the country (MSK + 8). It also includes the Sakhalin and Magadan regions, the Chukotka Autonomous District and the Kamchatka Territory.
