What is the story of the cartoon
Hedgehog in the Fog is a cartoon in which there is practically no plot, no pronounced intrigue. It was created based on the fairy tale of Sergei Kozlov, who wrote a whole book of stories about the Hedgehog and the Bear. They are the main characters of the cartoon.
In the evenings, the Hedgehog often went to visit the Bear to count the stars. They drank tea, sitting on a log, and looked at the starry sky. The whole sky was divided into two parts by a chimney: to the right of it, the Bear Cub counted the stars, and to the left - the Hedgehog.
The hedgehog walked through the forest and saw the fog ahead, in which there was a sad white horse. It seemed that the horse had drowned in the fog and was standing in it up to his chest. The night was moonlit, and fog filled the entire valley. It was very beautiful, but the hedgehog wondered if the horse would choke if he went to sleep in the fog? He decided to go into the fog and check how it was there. I went down the mountain, and in the fog I could not see anything. The hedgehog called the horse, but it did not respond.
He was crawling forward through the fog, it was dark, scary and wet, but the horse did not come across. Minutes or hours have passed? And suddenly the Hedgehog felt that he was falling. It turned out he fell into the river! Out of fear, he first began to beat his paws on the water, but then decided that let the river carry him out somewhere. He was already thinking that he would soon drown when someone put him on a narrow slippery back and drove him to the shore.
Then the Bear was sitting next to the Hedgehog on a log, saying something to him, telling him how he was looking for and calling him. And the Hedgehog thought it was very good that they were sitting together again.
Influence of the cartoon
The cartoon is very popular abroad. He has influenced a wide variety of authors. Hayao Miyazaki, a renowned Japanese cartoonist, considers Hedgehog in the Fog to be one of the finest works in the world of animation.
Lyudmila Petrushevskaya writes in her book that she served as a prototype for the image of the Hedgehog, but Norshtein says that the image was different.
For a parody of "Hedgehog in the Fog" there was a place even in such an animated series as "Family Guy". In one of the episodes of 2009, there is an explicit reference to the Soviet cartoon. In "Smeshariki" there is a series called "Hedgehog in the Nebula".
