A complaint is a request of a citizen (citizens) to protect or restore his (their) violated rights, freedoms or interests. A complaint against an investigator is usually written in the event that the investigator commits illegal actions or unreasonably delaying the investigation.

Instructions
Step 1
If you are not satisfied with the actions of the investigator, write a complaint that must be sent to the prosecutor's office, to the head of the investigating body or to the district court in which the preliminary investigation is taking place.
Step 2
Please note that the complaint must necessarily contain: an indication of the body or official to whom you are sending it; your name and mailing address, signature and date of appeal. If necessary, attach documents and materials on your case or their copies.
Step 3
In the complaint, be sure to indicate all the information concerning your case: - when exactly did you contact the investigation department; - under which article the criminal case was initiated; - with which decision of the investigator you disagree, for what reason; - when you learned about the decision made by the investigator; - further state the request to declare illegal the decision of the investigator on the basis of Art. 125 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation.
Step 4
File your complaint in person or by mail. If you decide to file a complaint in person, write it in duplicate. Give one copy to the prosecutor's office, and on the second ask to sign the acceptance of the complaint. If you are sending a complaint by mail, send it by valuable or certified mail with a request for notification to your address.
Step 5
Wait for notification of a court hearing considering your complaint within 3 days from the date of its submission. In exceptional cases, the complaint can be considered later, but no later than 10 days from the date of filing.
Step 6
A complaint against an investigator can be brought to court by you (the applicant), your legal representative, or your lawyer.
Step 7
Please note that your complaint must be reviewed in open court. In this case, you, your representative and the investigator, against whose actions you filed a complaint, must be present. The court can either recognize the complained actions of the investigator as unlawful, or refuse you to satisfy the complaint.
