If you are going to get a sable fur coat, then you need to be extremely careful and careful when buying. You can incur quite tangible losses if you buy marten fur, passed off as sable, so first of all, check in the store whether the products are certified and whether they have a guarantee.
Instructions
Step 1
Feel for a piece of your fur coat. The fact that natural marten fur looks very similar to light-colored sable fur often provokes fakes. Moreover, the damage from such a purchase will be very significant: the cost of sable fur significantly exceeds the cost of marten fur, not to mention the fact that the latter will wear out much faster. You can only feel the difference if you touch it: the guard hair of the marten fur is somewhat stiffer than that of sable fur. The coat of sable fur is very thick, silky, shiny and long.
Step 2
Swipe your hand against the grain. If the skin is soft to the touch, the guard hair is long enough, and at the same time also falls back relatively quickly, then there is a high probability that this is real sable fur. Remember a little skin and pay attention to whether there is a slight rustling. If you notice it, then this may mean that the skins are not well annealed. Subsequently, individual parts of such a product can deform even under light loads, and it will also undergo small imperceptible tears.
Step 3
Take a bottle of water with you to the store. Wet your hand a little and then run it through your hair. If you have a relatively large amount of it left on your hand, plus you felt some thorniness, then you have reason to doubt not only the quality of the fur, but also whether or not you really have sable fur. Natural sable fur can last you up to 12 seasons, as it is in the top five fur leaders in terms of wear resistance, but if the guard hair easily peels off, then this figure, accordingly, decreases sharply. Fold back the fur so you can see the skin. Take a close look at the hairline and feel it. If the fur is natural, then the hairs should not remain on your fingers, as they connect very tightly to the skin.
