The fact is that GOST R 51215-98 defines as many as 11 types of edged weapons, which, in turn, are considered by the Code of Administrative Offenses and the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. To determine, such indicators are usually used as the length of the blade, the thickness of the butt, the hardness of the blade (forging and hardening of steel), design. For example, if your knife is made of high-strength carbon steel, it is a melee weapon, and if its blade is more than 9 centimeters long, it is also a prohibited weapon.
Step 2
Throwing away a knife, which is a cold weapon, is best by handing it over to the nearest unit of the internal affairs bodies. Thus, no one will be able to bring you to criminal or administrative liability for possession or illegal sale of knives.

It is better not to think about selling edged weapons, since such an act is punishable by imprisonment for up to two years with a fine of up to eighty thousand rubles. It is best to throw away a knife that is not a melee weapon (for example, a canteen) at a scrap metal collection or processing point, that is, in a place where a piece of iron with a sharp edge can do the least harm to random people. Cement or concrete is also a good way to get rid of the knife - a nearby construction site is a great place to dispose of a dangerous item. Pouring a knife into concrete should take place with the consent of the persons in charge of the process, such as a foreman or a responsible worker.
