It's very easy to ruin beautiful things by planting a stain on them. Especially big inconvenience is caused by gum stains, which can appear due to childish pranks, visiting public places or traveling on public transport. But there are methods to effectively get rid of such stains.
Instructions
Step 1
If you find a gum stain on your clothes, immediately put the spoiled item in the refrigerator. After a couple of hours, the gum will harden and can be scraped off piece by piece. It should be remembered that products made of dermantin and artificial leather do not tolerate low temperatures and may be damaged during the removal of the stain.
Step 2
An equally effective remedy is to remove the gum with cold water. To do this, open the water tap and, after waiting for the lowest temperature water to flow, substitute a product with a stain under it. As it gradually cools, the top layers of the gum will begin to crumble. At this time, you just need to rub the thing lightly, and the gum will begin to fall off in small pieces. An ordinary clothes brush is very effective in removing a stain under running cold water.
Step 3
You can remove gum stains from upholstered furniture or carpet with ice packs. To do this, after cooling the gum, scrub the stain with a brush. The most effective way to remove stains from furniture and carpets is to cool adhering gum with dry ice. Also, gum stains are removed by means for cooling microcircuits, for example, such as "Freezer", which are sold in stores for radio amateurs. Once the stain has cooled down, the frozen chewing gum will be easy to remove.
Step 4
If the gum has penetrated deeply into the structure of the fabric and it was not possible to remove the stain by exposure to low temperatures, use household solvents, dichloroethane or gasoline. Remember that they can dissolve the dye of the fabric itself. To make sure that the solvent is safe for the product itself, apply it to clothing from the wrong side in an inconspicuous place and rub. If the paint is not washed off the clothes, then feel free to apply the solvent to the stain with gum for a few minutes, then rub the stain with gentle movements from the center to the edge. Repeat this procedure if necessary.
