Stretching the cloth on a billiard table is not an easy painstaking work, the roll of the ball across the playing field depends on the quality of its performance. A competent stretch will have the same uniformity, taking into account the peculiar shape of the billiard table. This skill has been honed over the years. Nevertheless, with the help of a partner, patience and the necessary materials, it is quite possible to pull the cloth on your own.
Instructions
Step 1
Place the felt on the stove. Leave 4 times more canvases on one wide and one narrow side than on the other two sides, where its amount will only be enough to glue the side part. Smooth movements from the center of the table, constantly smooth the canvas so that the playing field does not form folds and bends. Take a hard object and use it to smooth the fold of the felt around the wide sides of the table. This will make it easier for you to glue the canvas.
Step 2
Choose a plank that is the same width as the sides of the table. Put it in place of the sides and trace around the contour with chalk. On the side where more cloth was left, fold it over and place it on the table so that the fold is in the middle of the table. Perform the same manipulations with the remaining free side. Carefully smooth out the formed folds.
Paint over the pockets and sides of the table thoroughly with glue. Then, gently apply glue to the edges of the folded canvas on the table. A little more should be applied at the level of the central pockets of glue. Make sure that there is not a single unpainted area.
Step 3
Begin to gently glue one of the wide sides of the felt. Moving away from the center of the table, carefully secure the edges of the pockets. It is best to ask someone for help, since the canvas must be constantly pulled tightly. If temporary folds appear at this stage, they will disappear when the second side is glued. Do not glue the corners of the table. Do the same for the narrow sides of the slab. Carefully cut off any excess fabric and glue the corners. The sides of the felt should be trimmed in such a way as to slightly reveal the edge of the board.
