Step 1
Refer to the website of the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation: https://www.fms.gov.ru. If the pensioner is a citizen of the Russian Federation, click on the section "Registration of documents". On the highlighted page, on the left, find the pointer "Foreign passport".

Explore the information on the two types of passports that are offered today. They differ in shelf life (5 and 10 years), as well as in the amount of the levied duty - the same for the entire territory of Russia, 1000 and 2500 rubles, respectively (it is absent only for residents of the Kaliningrad region). Decide which passport you will be applying for.
Step 3
Pay attention to the list of documents required when applying for a foreign passport. It is the same for both types of passports. The pensioner should provide the original work book and pension certificate (copy and original).

There are two ways to fill out the application. The first one is on the website of state services https://www.gosuslugi.ru/ru/. Don't waste time searching by category. Scroll down the page, in the right column, pay attention to "Popular services". Select "Obtaining a passport by a citizen of the Russian Federation who has reached the age of 18".
Step 5
Download the Passport Application Form template or open it with Adobe Acrobat. Fill out the application, carefully answering all questions.
Step 6
Indicate information about work for the last 10 years. This point baffles many, and you just need to be more careful. If a person's retirement experience exceeds or corresponds to this figure, then mark the place of residence of the citizen during this time. Those. write the time interval, indicate: "did not work", in the address - the address of residence, in the position - "pensioner".
Step 7
In case of recent retirement, fill in all jobs in the previous 10 years. If during this time there were breaks in work (even short-term), indicate at which address the person was. The latest date is from the year of retirement to the present.
