Forgetfulness is a common problem. For example, if you are in a hurry to go somewhere with an overnight stay, you may forget to take your lens solution with you. Sooner or later they will have to be removed, and without a solution they will simply dry out. You can prepare such a solution yourself.
Necessary
lens containers, water, salt
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare sterile lens containers with a tight-fitting lid. If you forgot the solution along with the containers, be sure to find a replacement and disinfect the found container. To do this, rinse it thoroughly and boil for about ten minutes. Boil preferably filtered water and let cool. Do not put lenses in hot water.
Step 2
Then prepare saline solution. To do this, add salt to the water in portions. Add each next portion only after the previous one has dissolved.
Step 3
Remember that all objects in contact with the solution should, if possible, be disinfected. To do this, boil the spoon with which you add salt to the solution to eliminate most of the germs.
Step 4
When the solution resembles a regular lens storage solution, you can place the lenses in it and seal the container or containers tightly.
Step 5
If you have hard lenses, replace the solution with plain cold tap water. But raw water should never be used as a solution if the lenses are soft. This can lead not only to damage to the lenses, but also to various infectious eye diseases.
Step 6
After the lenses have been in your own solution, if possible, place them in a commercial solution and wait a few hours before putting them back on. If this is not possible, then, after putting on the lenses, carefully monitor your eyes: at the first signs of dryness or discomfort, remove the lenses.
Step 7
Use a solution prepared by yourself, only in exceptional cases. If it is possible to use a commercial solution, then resort to it. In some cases, for example, with increased sensitivity of the eyes and their sharp reaction to the components of solutions, with allergies, suppuration, etc. homemade solution cannot be used.
