To understand the psychology of a heavy-duty vehicle driver, you need to walk in his shoes. The trucker profession has a kind of romantic halo. It seems that the work is interesting, varied, plus good earnings. However, do not forget that this is one of the most difficult and dangerous professions that one can imagine. It is common knowledge that truck and truck drivers are much more professional than car drivers. And it's hard to argue with that. You need to be a sane and responsible person to drive a car loaded with goods worth millions of rubles and take everything safe and sound to your destination.
Cold war between car and truck drivers continues
It so happened that the relationship between the drivers of trucks and cars on the highway is, to put it mildly, cool. They always feel uncomfortable when they are near each other. And we all have mutual claims.
Car drivers constantly complain that people driving heavy vehicles do not pay attention to anyone around. They feel like masters on the track and consider everyone else to be "dummies" who bought a license for money and never learned to drive.
Truck and truck drivers, in turn, are unhappy with car drivers. They believe that they always do not follow the rules of the road, try to cut them forever and crawl under the wheels.
Both are partly right. In this case, everything is individual and still depends more on the personal qualities of the person driving the vehicle, regardless of its size. However, disputes and mutual claims never seem to end.
Professionals and amateurs
The statistics of accidents on the roads show that there are an order of magnitude less accidents involving heavy vehicles. The consequences of such accidents are almost always very sad. Often it does not do without human sacrifice.
Truck accidents account for an average of 10% of the total number of road accidents in Russia.
Trucks and trucks are driven by professional drivers, usually with extensive driving experience, who earn their living from this and take care of their reputation. And who needs extra problems and fines? So they try not to violate the traffic rules and prefer to let the reckless driver in a car rather than risk it. After all, nothing beats the potential power of trucks on the road. But terrible truck and truck accidents happen every day and there are a number of reasons for this:
• Unsatisfactory road condition.
• Unsatisfactory technical condition of the vehicle itself - many companies engaged in cargo transportation save on expensive repairs, as a result of which they risk the safety of the transported cargo and the lives of people.
• Non-observance of safety precautions during transportation, the load is poorly secured.
• Human factor. In order to save money, drivers do not take a partner for themselves, they do not have enough rest, which is why their attention is dulled.
• Elementary lack of skills in driving a heavy vehicle.
The world's largest truck accident happened in Finland in 2011. An overturned truck has caused more than 100 accidents. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
You just need to respect each other
One can argue endlessly who is better and more professional: the driver of a truck or a passenger car - there will be no consensus anyway. Among those and others, there are irresponsible and arrogant personalities. Many drivers have witnessed truck races at a speed of 100 km / h on the highway, or when a desperate reckless driver cuts a loaded truck on a bend.
It's just that all road users should be attentive and treat everyone else with due respect. When everyone feels personal responsibility, then there will be fewer accidents and the goods will be delivered without delay.
