Despite the fact that the comfort in the aircraft cabin is a rather subjective feeling, if you wish, you can choose a seat that will not bring any inconvenience even in economy class.
If you have a certain budget, the most comfortable seats on the plane can be considered as first and business class seats. There you can comfortably sit in wider seats than in economy class, or even lie down if you wish. Also, the expensive classes of any airlines have their own toilet, independent of the main cabin.
However, in the case of an economy class flight, you can find out in advance which seats are most convenient and choose them when registering online. To do this, you need to find out which aircraft is operating your flight (information is always available on the airline's website) and find on the Internet the aircraft cabin diagrams, which depict and color the best and worst seats.
The principles of choosing the best location
From a safety point of view, the best places are in the rear of the aircraft. It is the tail of the aircraft that suffers least of all in accidents that occur during takeoff and landing (for those sitting in these seats, the probability of remaining in perfect order is approximately 67%). It has been noticed that the back rows more often than others remain free and during long flights, you can lie down on three seats at once alone and have a quality rest in flight.
In cases where a lot of space is needed (tall), it is better to take a seat at the side emergency exits when checking in. There are no rows of seats in front of them, there are portholes nearby, allowing you to observe the progress of the flight.
Choosing a specific seat on different planes
In the Boing-777 model, which is quite common in both Russian and foreign airlines, the most comfortable seats will be in the 33rd row, in front of which there are no seats, there are places to stretch your legs, go to the toilet, without disturbing other passengers.
In the Airbus A320, as in other Airbus models, the best seats are located at the beginning of the cabin. There is a place here to comfortably stretch the legs of a tall person. But these seats have their drawbacks: firstly, passengers with small children are most often put here, and secondly, in the first rows it is uncomfortable to watch the entire flight on the wall.
In the Tu-214 aircraft, the best seats are also located at the very beginning of the economic salon (row 10): there is enough space for comfortable seating and there are no seats in front. In addition, those sitting in the front rows have additional advantages: they do not have to walk far when landing (accordingly, they get out the fastest). The first rows are also more suitable for people for whom food in flight is important: from here comes the distribution of onboard food.
