Initially, the sea container is designed for the transportation of various types of cargo. But as a result of human ingenuity, they turned into convenient storage facilities, mini-shops, cabins and even housing. The containers are structurally simple, mobile and airtight. Container owners often redesign them for different needs. By insulating a sea container, you can get a fairly cozy room that can be used for various purposes.

Necessary

  • _ timber by 50mm;
  • - insulation;
  • - grinder;
  • - petal circles;
  • - self-tapping screws;
  • - dye.

Instructions

Step 1

Despite the fact that the sea container is made of high quality steel, the metal must be taken care of. Examine the container carefully for rust, curvature, and holes. Caring for the condition of metal surfaces plays an important role in the life of a product.

Step 2

Scrape off any rust or corroded container walls. To do this, use flap wheels and an angle grinder, which is also called a grinder. Use sandpaper on occasion.

Step 3

It is better to prime and paint the container before insulation. Apply primer to sanded and cleaned areas. Ideally, prime the entire area of the container. Apply the paint in several layers. Paint the next layer when the previous one is dry.

Step 4

Start insulation by laying the insulation on the walls. To make supporting structures, take a 50mm beam. Wooden blanks should be made of dry wood, with a moisture content of no more than 14 percent. This is necessary to prevent deformation of the frame when the wood dries. Make a frame from a bar around the perimeter of the container walls. Install and fix the insulation boards to the container walls.

Step 5

Use mineral wool or foam as insulation. A good solution would be to use expanded polystyrene. When installing insulation, do not forget to create paths for condensation. Make air vents when installing the inner wall, at the top and bottom edges of the surface.

Step 6

When insulating the walls and ceiling of the container, be sure to use a vapor barrier film. Choose only high-quality vapor barrier, which has a wide selection on the construction market. Fasten the insulation material to the walls with self-tapping screws. It is not difficult to place the insulation in the frame and fix it.

Step 7

Insulate the ceiling of the container in the same way as the walls. Use basalt wool to insulate the ceiling. It has a higher heat capacity and density. A good solution will be if you go around the ceiling with expanded polystyrene plates. As a result of insulating the container, you will get a cozy, warm house.
