Every year more and more boat owners decide to equip their ships with echo sounders. At the same time, the number of people complaining about the incorrect operation of these devices is growing. As a rule, such complaints arise due to the incorrect installation of this equipment, or rather, the echo sounder emitter. Correct installation of a fish finder requires attention, patience and accuracy, but it can be done on your own.

Necessary

  • - pencil;
  • - drill;
  • - silicone sealant;
  • - screwdriver;
  • - wrench

Instructions

Step 1

Select a location on the transom to mount the echo sounder transducer Please note that the transom should not be in an area of swirling water. Therefore, on ships with a semi-stationary or outboard motor, the transmitter should be located at least 40 cm from the propeller. A correctly fixed radiator should point vertically downward. Otherwise, you will get a "picture" of the bottom not under the bottom of the vessel, but from the side. If your vessel has a stage, the emitter can be installed on it. At the same time, the installation of the emitter on the transom behind the redan is absolutely unacceptable.

Step 2

Take the drilling template supplied. Attach the template to the place where the emitter is supposed to be installed. Position the template vertically so that the shear line of the transom is between the horizontal lines of the template. Mark the two holes shown on the template.

Step 3

Drill the two previously marked holes with a 4mm drill bit. The holes should be 3 cm deep.

Step 4

Assemble the sonar transducer Connect the transducer body to the clamp using washers, a key and an assembly screw. Install this structure into the mounting plate. Do not snap the assembly onto the stopper.

Step 5

Fill holes drilled in the transom with silicone sealant. Attach the emitter mount assembly to the holes. Attach the clamp trim to the transom with washers and screws. Place the emitter clamp on the stopper.

Step 6

Adjust the working position of the emitter Adjust the mounting angle of the emitter relative to the clamp using the fastening screws. Tighten the clamp assembly screw. Adjust the height of the mounting plate of the emitter and mark this position with a pencil. Turn the clamp over and make sure that the position of the pad matches the intended position. Tighten the mounting screws. Place the clamp with the emitter in the working position on the stopper. Check the angle of the clamp.

Step 7

Route the cable Drill a hole in the transom board above the waterline and route the radiator cable through this hole. Fill the hole with silicone sealant. Place the fishfinder display on the holes and secure with screws. Secure the cable to the transom board.
