In the event that a purchased household appliance, such as a kettle, turns out to be faulty, you can legally require it to be replaced at the store where you purchased it. But for this you need to observe some formalities.
Instructions
Step 1
Check if you have the right to return the kettle to the store. According to Russian legislation, devices that are complex from a technical point of view, to which the kettle belongs, cannot be exchanged with proper quality. It is possible to return such a thing to the store only if there are external or internal defects obtained through no fault of the user during the warranty period for the product.
Step 2
Come to the store, taking with you a kettle, a receipt, warranty coupons, as well as the original packaging, if any. Contact the seller or other store employee and state the essence of your complaint. You have to demand both the replacement of the kettle with exactly the same, but serviceable, and reimbursement of its value in money. If the seller refuses to consider your request, contact his superiors. You also have the right to request a complaint book and write down the essence of your claim there as well.
Step 3
If the breakdown is suitable for correction, the store employee can send you to a service that carries out warranty repair of household appliances. In this case, you can only return the product if the repair does not help.
Step 4
If the store management refuses to replace your non-working kettle without offering alternatives, you can warn them that contact the consumer protection service. In a number of situations, this can have a positive effect on the employees of this organization, as a result of which you will be exchanged goods.
Step 5
When exchanging a kettle for a working copy or for money, you will receive a document confirming this. This can be, for example, a receipt for the return of goods. In this case, you will be entitled to contact the store again if the new kettle still does not work.
