When arranging a water supply system on a site adjacent to a country house, its owners have to choose a place where it is preferable to drill a well or equip a well. Modern devices and biolocation do not always give the desired result. Test drilling is considered the most reliable way to find water.
Necessary
- - shovel;
- - bailer;
- - professional drilling equipment.
Instructions
Step 1
First, pay attention to the indirect signs indicating the proximity of the aquifer. In such places, the vegetation is denser and has a particularly bright color. Above the places where the water comes close to the surface, midges usually hover, and the trees bend their branches low to the ground. If there are tall pines on the site, you can confidently drill a well up to two tens of meters deep.
Step 2
Ask the owners of neighboring plots for the quality and level of water in their wells. If in the area adjacent to your site the water is everywhere close to the surface, you can drill anywhere. On calcareous soils, water, as a rule, is almost everywhere, the whole question is at what level it lies, as well as how powerful the water layer is.
Step 3
Use a hand-type bailer for exploration drilling. It is a cylindrical device in the form of a pipe with a valve at the bottom and a bow at the top, to which a cable is attached. This equipment is used for trial water withdrawal from formations while drilling wells.
Step 4
When driving, periodically lift the thief and free it from the soil. Working with this tool is quite laborious. Manual drilling of a well can be justified if it is difficult to use the machine method in a specific area. Drilling is usually carried out until a stable water layer appears.
Step 5
Connect professionals with the appropriate equipment to the drilling job. Such exploration drilling is quite an expensive pleasure, but it fully justifies itself in the long term. Exploration drilling methods vary. Shock-rotary, hydraulic and excavator methods are widely used. The main challenge when drilling is to properly separate the clean aquifer from the upper layers that are contaminated with foreign matter.
