Residents of Krasnogorsk have long been asking the authorities to connect the city with the nearest metro station "Myakinino" by building a bridge. The Minister of Transport of the Moscow Region proposed another way out - to build a cable car.
The Pavshinskaya Poima, located near the Myakinino metro station, is home to about 35,000 people. To get to the metro, they need to cross the river by ferry every day. In winter, residents of Krasnogorsk are forced to do this on the ice. The metro stations closest to the floodplain on the other side are Tushinskaya and Volokolamskaya. To get to them, you have to spend at least 50 minutes.
Instead of a bridge, which residents of Krasnogorsk have long been asking to build, the authorities have proposed another option - a cable car. Experts believe that it is possible to build a cable car in a relatively short time and for little money, but the operation of this type of transport can be more expensive than using a bridge.
At the moment, the cable car project does not yet exist, so there is practically no information about it. According to A. Buslov, co-chairman of Gorod and Transport LLC, the cable car has a large number of drawbacks, first of all - it cannot be used in strong winds. In addition, the cable car is never heated in winter, so people could be seriously injured in the event of an unexpected stop over a frozen river.
According to Buslov, the construction of the cable car can take up to 8 months, and its maintenance will require considerable investments. The bridge will have to be built for about a year and a half, but it does not need to be repaired every year. Thus, the construction of the bridge is more economically viable.
A similar point of view is expressed by A. Sarychev, head of the Research Institute of Transport and Road Facilities. In his opinion, the cable car will be an absolutely unprofitable thing, which, along with the monorail, will become another gap in the city budget. By the most conservative estimates, the cost of the cable car ride will be about 150 rubles.
It is not yet clear when exactly the cable car to Myakinino will appear, and whether it will appear at all. At best, residents of Krasnogorsk should expect it not earlier than the summer of 2013.
