Cobalt is one of the brightest shades of blue. This pure, bright, intense color is combined with both pastel beige, pale green, light gray, and rich shades of coral, burgundy, chocolate and lemon.
Combinations with cobalt
On the color wheel, cobalt blue takes pride of place. This is one of the few colors that looks great in the company of their own kind - other shades of blue. Plus, this rich color works well with the versatile shades of gray and brown.
The most juicy combinations can be obtained by combining cobalt with shades of yellow - the opposite color. The following colors can be cited as examples of good combinations with cobalt:
- coral and light blue (jeans color);
- pastel lime shade;
- blueberry and gray-brown;
- mouse gray;
- cherry and sand;
- smoky gray and light gray;
- burgundy and pastel blue;
- mustard;
- linen;

Cobalt color in everyday wardrobe
When composing images using cobalt color, be inspired by photographs you like of nature, fruits, culinary masterpieces, or any other compositions in which you see an interesting combination with this color. So, in the photograph of the primrose, which has barely dissolved its bright blue petals with pale blue veins, one can also see burgundy fluffy stems and brown last year's foliage.
Use a photo of the primrose to create a fashionable look: wear a cobalt dress under a burgundy coat, tie a shawl around your neck in a pastel blue shade and complete the look with dark brown ankle boots.
To create a weekend look, you can use a photo of an antique door - an antique wooden door painted with bright blue paint. In some places, the paint has already peeled off, which allowed the photographer to capture different shades of blue: cobalt, delicate forget-me-not and gray-blue. These colors are great for creating a total blue look - an outfit in which everything is done in different shades of blue.
For a relaxed total blue look, wear a navy pullover with a light blue denim skirt, lighter tights and cobalt sneakers.
If your goal is to create a bright youthful look, then try to combine cobalt with bright yellow or yellow mustard. For example, pair a bright blue sweatshirt with yellow skinny jeans and chocolate ballerinas or loafers.
