Step 1

In the simplest case, use the twisting method to connect copper wires. It should be borne in mind that for industrial and household networks carrying a significant load, twisting of wires is prohibited, but this method is still widely used in those systems where the requirements for electrical safety are minimal. In order for the contact between the copper conductors to be of high quality, the twist length must be at least 40 mm; the turns should be stacked as tightly as possible to each other.

Step 2

Apply a clamp connection to connect copper wires. In this way, you can connect not only two homogeneous copper wires, but also copper with other metals, such as aluminum. With this type of connection, the ends of the wires are inserted into the terminal device and clamped with special screws. For stranded wires, special tubular lugs are used or the ends of the conductors are soldered.

Step 3

Use soldering for the installation of copper conductors. This connection is considered one of the most reliable. For greater reliability, twist is performed at the junction of the wires and covered with a layer of solder. Please note that acidic flux must not be used to solder copper wires. After soldering, the contact point should be treated with alcohol or refined gasoline.

Step 4

For a more reliable and high-quality connection of copper wires of significant cross-section, use the welding method. For such a connection, you will need a welding inverter, a special carbon electrode and a step-down transformer. Only homogeneous materials can be welded together.

Step 5

Install copper conductors by crimping. It consists in crimping the wires, enclosed in a special sleeve. For this purpose, special crimping pliers are used. This method of connection is recommended by electrical standards and fully meets the requirements for safety.
