A small wind generator is capable of supplying energy to a consumer with a power of up to one watt. This is enough to illuminate a tourist tent. The basis for such a generator will be a motor from an old children's toy.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a wooden lath about 5 centimeters wide, about a meter long and about 2 centimeters thick. Nail a plastic jar of such a diameter to one of its ends so that the motor fits tightly into it. Remove the cover from it first. In this case, the bottom of the jar should face the rail. Since the hammer will not go inside it, use a steel rod to transfer the force from it to the nail. If magnetized, it will hold the head of the nail against itself.
Step 2
On the side near the bottom of the jar, drill two holes for the wires to exit. Solder the wires to the motor leads, insert them into the jar, thread them through the holes and take them out. Insert the motor itself into the jar so that its shaft is directed towards you. Drill a hole in the cover for the shaft and then reinstall it.
Step 3
Slide the metal sleeve tightly onto the motor shaft. On the outside, it should have notches. Take the impeller from the toy helicopter launched with a string. Make a blind hole in its center on the reverse side with a diameter slightly less than the outer diameter of the sleeve, and then put it on the latter.
Step 4
Attach a weather vane on the back of the rail right behind the motor. It will automatically orient the generator towards the wind. Provide the opposite end of the bar with a perpendicular plate, which, in turn, glue to the gymnastic disc, the halves of which can rotate independently of each other. Glue the other half of the disc to a plate with dimensions of the order of 0.5x0.5 m. Artificially make it heavier.
Step 5
Make a stopper that will not allow the cord to wrap around the rail as the weather vane rotates. To do this, glue a small block to the edge of the disc, and place another one on the base, which in a certain position will touch the first.
Step 6
Run the engine wires into the tent. Connect them to an incandescent light bulb with a voltage of several volts. The receiver can also be fed through a rectifier with a good filter. But a mobile phone, digital camera and other modern electronic devices cannot be connected to such a generator - the continuously changing voltage is destructive for them.
