How good it is to go fishing early in the morning! The fresh smell of wildflowers, the chirping of birds and the first rays of the sun have a pacifying effect on the human psyche. To maintain this state of mind, you need to avoid any troubles while fishing. And for this, even the day before, it is worth taking care of, among other things, the correct winding of the cord on the spool of the fishing reel.

Step 1
Choose your fishing rig. It can be quite strong and cheap nylon line; Dacron line braided in the form of a hollow tube and has good tensile strength; a cord having a lead core; stranded or single-core cord.
Step 2
Use a single strand line if you plan to fish in strong deep sea currents. Its advantages include the absence of linear expansion and good resistance to strong currents. However, a single-core cord breaks easily when twisted, so it requires extremely correct winding of the spools.
Step 3
Place sewing thimbles or pharmacy-bought fingertips over your fingers. You can squeeze pieces of foam rubber between your fingers. This will protect your hands from damage when winding the cord around the bobbin. And you can avoid staining your hands in the color of the cord, the paint of which sometimes fades.
Step 4
Place the reel with the cord on a horizontal surface and start rewinding. To prevent the fishing reel from pulling out of your hands, insert an ordinary pencil, a metal rod of a suitable diameter or a ballpoint pen into its core. If the household cannot help you in winding the cord around the spool, hold the stiff core with the spool by yourself using your feet.
Step 5
Start winding the cord with a certain tension around the spool. If the winding of the coils was carried out weakly, then when casting a heavy bait, the last turns will wind up more strongly than those lying below. And it will be difficult for you to avoid the formation of a "beard" when casting a spinning rod. Heavy winding of the spools will reduce the durability of the cord and negatively affect the spool itself. Experiment with the optimal winding tension and tightness.
Step 6
Use regular # 10 hand sewing thread to make a backing. This is the link between the cord and the reel. When casting the spinning long distance, when the fish is planted, the soft sewing thread will not twist. You will not lose control of the fish you catch. In addition, the weight of a backing made of simple threads is much lighter. And this has a positive effect on the balance of the spinning rod.
Step 7
Do not wrap the cord on the bobbin over the collar - this will cause loose loops or beards. Optimally, up to the edge of the side should remain up to 1.5 mm. With a greater distance to the side, it will be difficult to cast. Look for the middle ground. With the optimal tension of the cord when winding and its height in the fishing reel, as well as with proper operation, you will certainly have a successful fishing.
