Step 1
Get a professional clipper knife sharpening kit. The kit usually includes a machine, a protective casing for it, a double-sided aluminum disc, a disc cleaner, oil and abrasive for sharpening knives, a brush, a laser pointer, a magnetic holder and other elements.
Step 2
Prepare your knives for sharpening. To do this, disassemble the machine and disconnect the knife block. After disassembly, carefully fold all parts of the unit and fastening screws in one place so as not to lose.
Step 3
Clean the aluminum disc by wiping with a soft cloth. Treat the disc with special oil, applying it in a circular motion. Then apply abrasive powder to the washer, carefully spreading it over the surface with a special bar.
Step 4
Install a magnetic laser pointer on the shroud. Secure the blade to be sharpened with the magnetic holder. Turn on the machine, setting the required speed of rotation of the disc beforehand.
Step 5
Press the blade with the cutting surface against the rotating disc and hold it in this position, making smooth movements from the axis of the disc to its edge. The approximate processing time for each knife is one to two minutes. Do the same with the second part of the cutter device.
Step 6
After processing, rinse the blades after demagnetizing them. Fill a plastic container with warm water and fill it with the cleaner supplied with the sharpener. Rinse both blades thoroughly with this compound.
Step 7
Brush the washed blades with a stiff brush to remove all abrasive particles. Then wipe the knives first with a clean cloth and then with a dry cloth to completely remove any moisture. Assemble the knife block into a single piece. The machine is ready for use again. One disc can be used without replacement for sharpening from one thousand to three thousand knives.
