The theme of love in the work of Vladimir Vladimirovich Mayakovsky occupied a large place. He believed that love is the heart of everything that exists, and if this heart does not work, then everything else becomes superfluous and unnecessary.

Mayakovsky's love lyrics

All the work of the famous poet is a reflection of his life, with all the grievances, disappointments and joys. The external rudeness of behavior hid a vulnerable heart and an impressionable and emotional nature. Mayakovsky's poems amaze with the extraordinary power of passion, but at the same time they are filled with deep tenderness. The tragic note in his love lyrics is associated with his personal life and deep feelings that made his heart suffer and bleed.

Mayakovsky's tragic love

The main muse of the poet throughout his life was Lilya Brik. They met in 1915, and before that Mayakovsky had been courting Lily's younger sister Elsa for 2 years. She then brought young Vladimir to the family of her older sister, who was married to Osip Brik. Mayakovsky began to visit them often and soon fell recklessly in love with the mistress of the house. He was primarily attracted by the fact that Lilia Yuryevna was a woman of a different circle, she amazed with her elegance and manners, at the same time sometimes switching to eccentric behavior and surprising those around her with the absence of prejudices.

In addition, she was very intelligent and well-read and had a huge circle of interesting acquaintances. Such incomprehensibility led to the emergence of a strong feeling in Mayakovsky, he and Brick began to meet every day, but she kept him at a distance, although he was crazy about her. This confused life, which took place almost in front of Osip Brik's eyes, secret meetings and constant deception could not but affect the entire creative biography of the poet.

The love of Vladimir Mayakovsky and Lily Brik many times reached the brink of a crisis. Tragic and hopeless, she had an unavoidable obstacle - Lilya never belonged to the poet completely. In addition to her husband, Vladimir had to share her with many lovers, about which there was a lot of gossip in society, which, of course, became known to the poet. This agony lasted until 1925, turning into friendly relations, to which Mayakovsky had to go for the sake of his beloved. It was painful, but, not imagining his life without a woman dear to him, the poet used the slightest opportunity to be with her.

There are many versions about the reasons that prompted the famous and talented poet to commit suicide. Perhaps, among them, one can name his tragic love. Even numerous novels did not prevent Mayakovsky from keeping this feeling in his heart until the last minute and mentioning Lilya Brik as a member of his family in his suicide note.
