If you bought an item of inadequate quality, you have every right to return it back to the store. In some cases, you can cancel the purchase of even a high-quality product that for some reason did not suit you. But for this you need to know the procedure and your rights as a buyer.
Necessary
- - the product you want to return;
- - check.
Instructions
Step 1
Find out if you have the right to return the purchased item. You can do this if the product is of poor quality. However, the return period may be limited for different product groups. For example, for household appliances, it is determined by the warranty period. Also, a high-tech product that you have already tried to repair yourself cannot be returned back. By law, within two weeks, you can return back even a good quality product that for some reason did not suit you. But there are exceptions to this rule. For example, you will not be able to get money back for printed publications, linen, medical supplies and medicines, household appliances and other technically complex devices.
Step 2
If your item meets the criteria for a possible return, please bring it to the store with it. It is also advisable to have his original packaging with you, if it is preserved, a warranty card and a cashier's receipt. Show the merchandise and papers to the seller and let them know that you want to return the purchase. Tell us about the reasons for your decision. You, as a consumer, have the right to choose a form of compensation - or receive a similar model, but of appropriate quality, or you get a refund.
Step 3
If the seller refuses to satisfy your request, ask to call the manager. It is possible that a highly empowered executive can decide the issue in your favor. But if he also refuses, you can leave a record in the book of complaints and suggestions.
Step 4
If you cannot resolve the issue with the store, contact the Consumer Rights Protection Society in your area. There they can give you advice on how to proceed, whether you have a chance to get your money back. In some cases, you may also consider going to court, but please note that this can take a very long time.
