It is very pleasant to open a bottle of fresh juice on a cold winter day. Many housewives prepare such juices on their own, preserving liquid in bottles. Canned juice, when stored properly, retains almost all vitamins. However, in order for the product not to deteriorate, containers, that is, bottles, should be sterilized with high quality. How to do it?
It is necessary
saucepan, sieve, wooden board, microwave
Instructions
Step 1
Thoroughly wash the bottles you intend to sterilize. Check that they are free of chips, cracks or other defects, otherwise the bottles may burst when heated. Prepare a pot of clean water. Place a metal sieve or some kind of metal grate on top, such as an oven grate. You can use any constraint you like.
Step 2
Put the saucepan on the fire, and put the bottles upside down on a sieve (wire rack). When the water boils, the steam sterilization process begins. Fifteen minutes is enough. Drops of steam that have formed inside the bottles must drain off. After the time has passed, remove the bottles and place them on a clean towel without turning them over. Before this, it is better to iron the towel with an iron at a high temperature.
Step 3
If you want to simplify the procedure, you can use another method. To do this, place a clean piece of wood in the pot. Place the bottles on it and completely fill them with water. To prevent glass items from rattling or knocking when boiling, transfer them with a clean cloth. Boil the bottles for fifteen to twenty minutes. After that, carefully remove the objects from the water, without waiting for it to cool. To do this, you can use carefully washed salad tongs.
Step 4
To avoid a lot of open steam, you can sterilize the bottles in a double boiler (if you have one, of course). Wash bottles and put in a double boiler. Turn on the cooking mode for fifteen minutes. Wait for time to pass and remove the container. Place it on a clean towel and cover with an ironed cotton cloth.
Step 5
If you don't have a steamer but have a microwave, you can use it to sterilize glass containers. To do this, pour a little water into the bottle (on the bottom) and put it in a microwave with a power of 700-800 watts for a couple of minutes. Wait for the water to boil, and after five minutes, the sterilization is over.
