The pallet is one of the most important elements of the shower stall. The simplest solution to the problem is to buy a pallet from a plumbing store. Well, what if its dimensions turned out to be larger or smaller than the shower room? The answer suggests itself: you can make a pallet yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
With an existing shower stall, start making a pallet by identifying a place to drain. The drain itself is a special elbow connected to the sewer pipe through a hole in the plug with a diameter of about 110 mm. It is advisable to seal the seam around the hole with silicone sealant.
Step 2
After installing the drain, level the base of the shower tray using a self-leveling leveler. After the leveling agent has dried, place the extruded polystyrene foam on it, which is both a floor insulation and a means of protecting it from capillary suction.
Step 3
If you are installing a pallet on interfloor floors, you will need to install waterproofing. For this purpose, a polyethylene or butyl rubber film is quite suitable. Polystyrene foam can be glued to the base of the pallet with tile adhesive. Leave some space around the drain before pouring the screed into the pallet. Then, after setting the level, fix the drain with alabaster, lay the plaster mesh and start pouring.
Step 4
Three days after the screed has set, for more reliable waterproofing at the edges, corners and joints, install fiber rubber. You just have to make the sides for the pallet from silicate bricks, wrap them with plaster mesh and plaster using the Knauf Unterputz method. In the shower stall in the country, you can install the pallet directly on the ground by digging a depression of the appropriate configuration for it.
Step 5
Alternatively, your pallet is on a small foundation of stones or posts. All this will help you avoid soil erosion near the pallet. In modern shower stalls, you can find flat trays, or rather, it is an ordinary floor with waterproofing and a drain hole in the center. You can also use this option when equipping your shower room.
