Fly tape can be made in several ways. These insect killing agents will be much cheaper than purchased ones, which is especially important for the villagers: here flies are often a real disaster.
For the villagers, the issue of fighting flies is more relevant than for the townspeople. When you have your own farm, there is always something in the yard that will lure these annoying insects: feed for poultry and livestock, their waste, a compost pit, etc. It is too expensive for villagers to use Velcro to kill flies. Therefore, it is better for them to learn how to make analogues of insect-destroying bait on their own.
Methods for making fly stickies
First you need to prepare strips of thick paper, on which you will need to apply an adhesive. The ribbons must be strong, so newsprint and other thin paper will not work. Better to use wrapping or landscape. If the length of the standard blade is short, the tapes can be glued together. If you want to make the fly sticky strips reusable, you can use an oilcloth.
To prepare the bait, you will need any tin can (you can use a container for instant coffee), rosin, castor oil, sugar syrup or jam. In addition, you will need a container into which you will need to pour boiling water. In a tin can put 50 g of rosin and 30 g of castor oil.
Then it is placed in a container of boiling water and waited until the ingredients turn into a rather viscous mixture. To speed up the process, the water can be heated. When the contents of the jar are melted, add honey or jam. The amount of sweet bait should be such that the adhesive does not lose its viscosity. Next, the resulting substance is spread on paper or oilcloth tapes and hung out where there are many insects.
If you don't have rosin or castor oil, you can make fly flypaper with other ingredients. You will need pine resin (300 g), linseed oil (150 g), honey (50 g). The resin and oil are heated in a tin can in the same way as with rosin and castor oil bait. After the adhesive has cooled, it is applied to the tapes.
The easiest way to make fly sticky tape
As a viscous substance that attracts and retains flies, you can use a special glue for catching rodents and insects "ALT". This composition is non-toxic and has an advantage over other types of adhesive mixtures: it does not dry out and remains effective for a long time. Such a tape will destroy insects as long as there is free space on it or until frost comes. The "ALT" glue is applied to a strip of paper by squeezing it out of the tube.
