The social environment is a part of the surrounding world, consisting of people, as well as public and state structures, organizations with which a person is in direct contact in everyday life. It is the totality of all the conditions for the existence of each specific individual.
The social environment has a strong impact on a person, affects his behavior, habits, shapes his views, character, value system. Constantly communicating with other people, a person involuntarily falls under their influence. He often adopts their habits, manners, behavior patterns. In addition, the individual is forced to reckon with the views, convictions of others, so as not to be in the position of a "black sheep". That is, it behaves in full accordance with the proverb: "With whom you lead, from that you will gain." This is most clearly manifested in childhood, when a child takes an example from his parents, imitating them literally in everything.
The influence of the social environment can be both positive and negative. For example, from early childhood, a baby was brought up in an atmosphere of mutual love, respect and goodwill, he was surrounded by polite and cultured people, they tried to instill good feelings in him. In this case, he will grow up to be a decent person. There are, of course, individual exceptions, but they do not change the general rule. If the child did not get love and care, not the most worthy personalities prevailed in his environment, it is highly likely that when he grows up, he will go "along a crooked path." There are exceptions, though. Suffice it to recall, for example, the famous writer Maxim Gorky, who grew up in the house of a harsh and despotic tyrant grandfather who regularly used corporal punishment.
The social environment, forming the personality of specific people, itself can change under the influence of many reasons, for example, economic, political, historical. It can also be greatly influenced by the peculiarities of the mentality, religious commitment, the degree of social and political activity of people.
