Water is a complex element. People need it for life, but it can also take it away at any time. To prevent this from happening, it is not enough just to be able to swim, it is necessary to strictly observe safety rules and be able to stay on the surface of the water.
Instructions
Step 1
The first and foremost rule: don't panic in case of an accident! So you become a hostage to the situation and are not able to take the necessary actions. Do not give in to fear, control yourself. This will help you find a way out of the situation.
Step 2
Avoid getting water into the lungs and bronchi. This is fatal, so try to keep your head held high and use vigorous arm and leg movements to stay upright. If liquid gets in, cough up.
Step 3
If you have cramps in the water, try to stay on the surface by swimming on your back. Try to stop the attack: rub the contracted muscle, maintain balance. Call for help.
Step 4
If you are swept into a strong whirlpool, take in more air and, submerged under the water, make every effort to be in the direction of the current. Again, if you hit a fairly strong current, don't worry. Your every move is important. Do not swim against the current, stick to it, trying to move closer to the shore. Do not row very vigorously; on the contrary, try to reach the bottom with your feet.
Step 5
If for some reason you swam far from the shore and get entangled in seaweed, keep your composure. In no case, do not make sudden movements, on the contrary, try to lie on your back and return with smooth movements in the direction from which you swam. Warning: this advice may not work in some situations. In this case, press your legs to your stomach and very carefully detach the algae that is attached to you from the body.
