If you decide to start manufacturing cabinet furniture, then you cannot do without a panel saw. The principle of its operation is simple, but the factory-made machine has a decent cost. Not every beginner entrepreneur can afford to buy such equipment. But making a machine with your own hands is quite within the power of everyone who knows how to handle the tool and is at least a little familiar with the technique.

Necessary

  • - metal pipes;
  • - metal corners and channels;
  • - two electric motors;
  • - shafts from agricultural machinery;
  • - main saw blade;
  • - scoring disc;
  • - fasteners (bolts and nuts);
  • - welding machine;
  • - a set of tools for working with metal.

Instructions

Step 1

Make a sturdy steel machine bed (base). To do this, use metal channels. The dimensions of the workpieces for the bed must be such that the length of the machine is 6500-6700 mm, the width is 2500 mm, and the height is 800-1100 mm.

Step 2

Construct the machine main guide, floor guide and fix them to the bed. For the manufacture of guides, use a pipe with dimensions of 60x5x6500 mm.

Step 3

Make the movable worktable move along the guide. While the machine is running, the table will feed the sheet.

Step 4

Provide the length of the cutting line equal to 3000-3200 mm. You can increase or decrease this parameter at will, for this it is enough to change the length of the guides.

Step 5

Hang two saws on the machine - the main saw and the scoring saw. The saws are mounted on the saw unit and rotate towards each other, driven by two asynchronous motors. Provide the possibility for the block to be tilted at an angle of up to 45 degrees; for this you need to equip the saw unit with a swivel mechanism.

Step 6

Carefully consider the choice of motors that will drive the saws. The power of the motors must be at least 2.9 kW. The motors should rotate the main saw at about 5000 rpm, and the scoring saw at 8000 rpm.

Step 7

Use saw blades with a diameter of 250 mm in the construction of the machine, which will allow cutting laminated chipboard and trimming sheets.

Step 8

Provide good exhaust ventilation in the production area for safe operation of the panel saw. Otherwise, wood particles can be ignited by a small spark that can be generated when the engines are running. Considering the high rotational speed of the saw blades, take extra care when working on the machine.
