Diamonds (cut diamonds) are amazing and attractive natural stones that have fascinated people with their brilliance for many centuries. Diamond is a French word meaning brilliant. And it is not for nothing that the cut diamond was named so. When the light hits, the facets of the diamond play and shimmer with a fiery sheaf of rainbow sparks. To choose a good quality diamond, it is important to know a few basic rules.

Instructions
Step 1
The first parameter is weight.
The weight of these wonderful stones is measured in carats (carat). One carat by weight is equal to 0.2 grams. Diamonds are divided into three main weight groups: small, medium and large. Small diamonds - weight up to 0.29 carats, medium - from 0.3 to 0.99, and large diamonds are considered stones from 1 carat or more.
The stones are weighed on special carat scales. The figure indicating the mass of the stone is determined up to the third character after the decimal point. If the third sign after the decimal point is not 9, it is discarded and the weight is recorded up to the second character after the decimal point.
If a diamond is inserted into a piece of jewelry, its weight can only be determined after it has been set. If you are going to make a product with diamonds to order, first weigh it, and only then give it to the jeweler for work.
Step 2
The second parameter is color
The color of diamonds is divided into two main groups - traditional and fancy. The first group includes colorless diamonds and stones belonging to the entire spectrum of yellow. In this group, the most valuable are the colorless diamonds - diamonds that are called "pure water". If you put such a stone in a glass of clean water, it will not be visible. The "cheapest" in this group are diamonds of pronounced yellow color.
Exceptions in this group are very rare gold and black stones.
The second group - fantasy - includes stones of blue, pink, red, blue and others.
Each color is indicated by a letter of the Latin alphabet. D - colorless, Z - yellow.
Step 3
The third parameter is clarity.
The purity of the stone is its most important advantage. Purity is determined by the presence or absence of defects, foreign inclusions in the structure of the stone. Such defects can be superficial - and then you can get rid of them with the help of grinding, or internal - and then it is impossible to remove it. To establish the presence of defects, jewelers use a 10x magnifying glass. To assess transparency as such, there is the Russian system TU 25-07.1319-77 and the international system GIA.
Step 4
The fourth parameter is cut (cut).
Back in 1919, mathematician Marcel Tolkovsky calculated the proportions of the ideal cut of diamonds. If the stone is processed according to its system, then the light entering it through the crown is completely reflected from the edges of the pavilion and, coming back, gives a delightful shine.
The method of cutting greatly affects the value of the stone. But, first of all, the choice of a diamond jewelery item primarily depends on the taste and preferences of the buyer.
The shape of the cut is different. For example, round, pear, usher, marquis, and so on. But how brightly the stone plays and shines depends not on the shape, but on how finely and qualitatively the cut is made. The perfect cut of the highest quality is indicated by the letter A, and then in descending order.
