There are things in life that are difficult to describe in words. One of them is the human voice. How can another person imagine the sound of the voice you are discussing if he has not heard it? There are a number of simple characteristics.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, you can say about a person's voice whether it is quiet or loud. These terms are quite unambiguous and immediately bring some clarity. Strong or weak voice can be considered synonymous with these parameters. These characteristics will immediately evoke the correct associations in many people. You can always use comparisons: loud, like an opera singer, or so quiet that you have to listen to make out the words.
Step 2
A special parameter is the timbre of the voice. It is less obvious than loudness and strength, and it is a little more difficult to describe it. It can be characterized by a huge number of parameters - beautiful or ugly, deep or shallow, open or closed. However, in most cases, it is sufficient to limit yourself to the characteristic pleasant, velvety or sharp. The same can be enumerated, speaking not about the timbre, but about the color of the voice.
Step 3
It is immediately clear which voice you are talking about if you begin to characterize it as low or high. You can notice, for example, that the voice is very high (a person gets the highest notes when singing), or, on the contrary, sounds like a deep, deep bass. A common characteristic can be the conditional division of the voice into masculine or feminine. Sometimes it can be said that a woman has a male voice and a man has a female voice. This term is often used in colloquial speech, although it is very conditional and not entirely correct.
Step 4
A person can speak dryly and monotonously, or maybe emotionally, changing the dynamics and intonation. The latter can also be seen as unusual. Some voices can be characterized by the way a person speaks: a little in the nose or, conversely, voluminous. The sound can be clipped or open. It is easy to point out the peculiarities of the voice if there is some kind of accent, for example, the Ukrainian dialect. A person during a conversation can stretch words, sing with some properties characteristic only of him. Vladimir Vysotsky stretched the letters "r" and "l" while singing. Try to remember if the voice you are discussing has some unique characteristics, and formulate them. It is not uncommon for people to have voices that are similar to someone else. For example, you can say that he speaks just like a certain DJ on the radio.
