If you ask a person about a houseplant that absorbs computer radiation, he will most likely name a cactus. However, in reality this is not the case. And there are no flowers that perform this function in nature. But first things first.
Computer radiation
It is necessary to understand that this type of radiation does not exist. A computer is the same device as an electric stove, refrigerator or television.
Radiation is divided into several types. They are determined by their physical nature. So, the most famous will be acoustic, electromagnetic and ionizing radiation.
The first of them is the vibrations of particles of gases, liquids and solids that have spread in space. This is, for example, sound.
The second type is a stream of photons, or particles of carriers of electromagnetic interaction. It could be radio waves or sunlight.
The latter type is better known as radiation. It can also be different: electronic, neutron, electromagnetic, etc.
Each of these radiation can be dangerous if the dose exceeds the permissible level. But in everyday life, they are harmless. Even our planet has a natural electromagnetic and radiation background, from which you can't get away.
Computers
A computer, like any electrical device, emits electromagnetic waves. However, they are not powerful enough to cause significant health damage.
Earlier they produced monitors based on an electro-ray tube. They were designed in such a way that electrons were ejected from a special gun, resulting in a glow. Their collision with the screen produced X-rays, which are hazardous to health with prolonged exposure.
Today's monitors are based on liquid crystal technology. The light sources in them are LEDs, which are absolutely safe.
Plants that absorb radiation
Neither cactus nor any other plant can protect against electromagnetic radiation. Of course, it is possible that they can absorb some of it. However, this will be only that fraction of the radiation that will fall directly on them.
But do not think that there is no benefit from them. Any plant produces oxygen. This means that if there is at least one flower at the computer table or in the room, it will become more comfortable to work and relax.
In addition, there are plants that are capable of absorbing harmful substances, as well as maintaining the level of humidity in the air. Such plants include dracaena, scarlet, ficus, chrysanthemum, etc. Studies show that people who have at least one of these flowers sleep better and recover faster.
