Step 1
Methods for storing and transferring digital graphics are different. Usually a color is a specific set of numbers - a coordinate system. Imagine that the monitor is a matrix of columns and rows. The picture on the monitor screen is a projection, the final appearance of which will depend on the number of involved columns and rows - pixels.

Monitors differ in type - LCD or CRT. Optimal color settings are linked to the resolution supported by the device, so the default settings are best.

For optimal color reproduction on the LCD monitor, select 32-bit resolution. To check if these settings are correct, click Start → Control Panel → Appearance and Personalization → Adjust Screen Resolution. Then click on "Advanced" and the "Monitor" tab. In the Colors list, find True Color (32-bit) and click OK.

If you want to change the default parameters, you need to calibrate the screen. For Windows 7, Vista, click "Start", then "Control Panel" and select "Calibrate Monitor Colors". Basically, pressing the center button opens the OSD menu. Color options can be set on the Set Basic Color Options page. Set a color mode such as sRGB, choose a color temperature with D65 or 6500, set a color gamut to the default 2, 2. To apply a new calibration, click Done, to not use the settings, click Cancel.
