Step 1

To create a chart based on data in the workspace, select the cells with the data to be included in the chart. Click the Chart Wizard button on the Standard toolbar.

In the "Chart Wizard" window that appears from the "Type" list, select the appropriate chart, for example, a pie chart.

Step 3

In the "View" area, there are several options for the selected chart type. Click on the required subtype.

To preview the result, click and hold the Preview button. A sample chart appears based on the selected range of the worksheet. After you finish viewing, you need to release the mouse button.

Click on the "Next" button. In the "Data Source" dialog box that appears, you can select values for the chart, but the data was already selected in step 1, but in this window you can also confirm the information. In the "Data range" tab, check the correctness of the specified cells.

Step 6

If you find an error, click on the button to minimize the dialog box, and then use the mouse to select the desired range of cells in the worksheet and click the expand button of the dialog box.

Step 7

If the chart correctly displays the worksheet data and looks correct when previewed, click the Finish button. Excel will then create a chart.

If you need to add some elements, then continue to work with the chart wizard.

In the Rows group, set the icon in rows or in columns, so you specify the desired data location.

Click on the "Next" button. The "Chart Options" window appears. Use the tabs in this window to create a title for the chart, enter axis names, include a legend in the chart, enter data labels, and insert gridlines.

Click "Next". The next step is to choose the placement of the chart. In this window, choose to insert the chart on the current sheet or on a separate worksheet.

Click the Finish button and finish building the diagram.
