Do not forget to sincerely thank them for their attention and care, show interest in their affairs, praise them for their achievements and successes. If we are talking about a person who is much older than you, try to follow the rules of good manners especially when communicating with him: be impeccably polite, listen carefully, offer help: for example, give him your hand when exiting transport (bus, trolleybus, tram), offer to bring a load to the house, etc. Be patient and considerate if the elderly person does not immediately find the right words in a conversation or even starts to speak outright absurdities. In any case, in order to show respect for a person, it is enough to follow a few simple generally accepted rules. First, communicate with him politely. Secondly, clearly understand that everyone is an independent person and has the right to their opinion, views, tastes, habits and even mistakes.
