The seal as a distinctive sign has come a long historical path and has undergone a lot of changes. The seal can take many forms. The most common seals are round, square (for props), oval (for certification) and even triangular. Letters, coats of arms, monograms cut into them served as an insignia. In some cases, a seal was placed instead of a signature, and it was called a personal seal. And in the old days, letters were hung in a small bag or box with a seal, which attested the degree of knowledge.

Mastic

In modern society, people use mastic seals, which even have their own prescribed state standard. A seal that, when applied, provides an impression with stamp ink is called mastic. She was nicknamed mastic because of the application of mastic, a special liquid or, as they often say, stamp paint on her pads.

Mastic can contain a different base, most often such paint is divided into:

- water, - alcohol, - oil.

There is also an invisible mastic, it can only be seen under ultraviolet rays, it is often used for secret seals, and today it can also be found in nightclubs, where it is placed on the wrist of a paying guest.

Type of mastic seal

Mastic seals are usually round in shape with a diameter of about 40-50 millimeters. On such seals, the data of the owner and the coat of arms or emblem must be indicated. For example, if it is a seal of a legal entity, then the details are indicated in the circled field of the seal, most often the INN or OGRN, and the coat of arms and the name of the organization with an indication of the form of ownership are placed in the middle.

High quality rubber is used for the production of mastic seal. The service life of good rubber is five years, while its shape is not distorted, various cracks do not appear and the hardness does not change.

The hardness of rubber for printing must be at least 60 units, so that it can be used at various temperature conditions and in interaction with stamp inks containing alcohol.

Scratches or splits on the outer surface of the rubber are unacceptable, since the entire drawing and print text will immediately be distorted, and its further operation will be impossible. In addition to the mastic seal, other types are often used, for example there are: official seal, simple seal, small official seal, as well as stamps of various contents.
