Thousands of postal items are produced every day in the world. Someone sends gifts to their relatives and friends who live in remote places of the globe, while someone runs their own online store, and every day sends out a lot of parcels to their customers. But, one way or another, more and more people use the mail, and every day the number of postal items only increases, so the question of how to properly pack and send a parcel remains open for many.

Step 1
Before sending the parcel, you need to prepare everything properly. If you want to send something fragile, for example, a porcelain vase, then be sure to wrap the entire item in newspaper or plastic to avoid damage during delivery. If the item is very fragile and the paper is not enough to protect it from damage, then you can wrap it in foam rubber. The parcel does not need to be packaged only if it is with a list of investments and a declared value. In this case, packing takes place directly at the post office.
Step 2
Further, in the post office, where the registration of sending the parcel will take place, you must select the method of sending. It can be a high-speed EMS delivery with courier delivery, or it can be a simple shipment by Russian Post. The first option is more expensive, but much faster and more convenient. In addition to the delivery method, the cost also depends on the weight of the parcel. If it exceeds the weight of 2 kg, then you will have to pay extra for each additional kilogram.
Step 3
After weighing the parcel, it is placed in a box. The size of the box depends on the size of the item being sent. You need to carefully monitor how the parcel being sent is stacked, or do everything yourself to add confidence in the safety of the delivery item. In some cases, the parcel is not packed in a box, but in a special plastic bag, or in a sewn bag.
Step 4
After completing the packaging of the parcel, the postal officer who accepts the parcel for shipment must issue an appropriate document confirming what exactly you sent and paid for the parcel to the specified address. In case of any claims to the work of the Russian Post, this document can serve as a decisive argument in favor of the sender.
Step 5
If for some reason you do not have confidence in the mail or the parcel is too heavy, then you can use the services of private companies (for example, DHL). However, in this case, delivery will cost much more, but its speed and quality will correspond to the money spent. All registration procedures in private delivery companies are similar to regular mail. Be sure to take a check certifying the fact that you sent the package through this company in order to avoid misunderstandings in controversial issues.
