Step 1
The easiest way to get to the Kolomenskoye Park is by metro. You will need the Kolomenskaya station of the Zamoskvoretskaya metro line, it is marked in green on the map. The station is located closer to the southeastern part of the map. Get on the first car of the train in the direction from the center.
Step 2
There are two exits at the Kolomenskaya station, you need the one near the first car. Exit direction - Orbita cinema. Pay attention to the signs in the metro: there will also be a direction for the exit to the park. After rising from the metro, walk a little straight ahead along the residential area, and you will come to the main entrance to Kolomensky Park. The entrance will be visible, but you need to go straight, so you won't be able to get lost. The road from the metro to the park entrance takes about 5-10 minutes.
Step 3
For those who travel to the park by car, it is convenient to get there, focusing on the street on which the entrance to the park is located. You need to go to Andropov Avenue and proceed to house 39. You can leave your car not far from the park: there are free parking spaces. It is better to visit the park by car on weekdays, and if you go on a weekend, then leave early: after lunch, there are simply no places in the parking lot.
Step 4
Kolomenskoye is a state art historical-architectural-natural-landscape museum-reserve. It is quite large: the area of the park is 390 hectares. The entrance to Kolomenskoye is free, but you can buy a ticket for a tour. From April to October, the park is open from 08:00 to 22:00, and from November to March from 10:00 to 21:00. There are several museums on the territory of the complex, which are open from 10:00 to 18:00. All museums are closed on Monday. The entrance to them is paid, the ticket must be bought separately for each museum.
Step 5
The Kolomenskoye Park is located on the banks of the Moskva River, and offers an excellent view of the water and the city. There is also an apple orchard, which is especially beautiful in the spring, when the trees are in bloom, and in the fall, when they are hung with ripe fruits. There are also old oaks in Kolomenskoye, some of which are so wide that two people cannot grasp the trunk.
Step 6
There are so many historical sights concentrated on the territory of the park that if you are interested in this particular aspect of the visit, count on several days at once. It is simply not possible to see all the estates and old buildings of the park in one visit. The most beautiful old estates, in which the authentic life and interior have been recreated, will take you to the past and make you feel like you are in a time machine.
