Terrorism is a sad, terrible reality of the modern era. Every now and then in different countries there are brutal acts of violence and intimidation, involving human casualties. This problem has not spared Russia either. In most cases, terrorist acts are committed by suicide bombers, that is, the perpetrator of this crime sacrifices his own life.
The form of terrorism, when a person blows himself up, is very beneficial to the organizers of crimes. First, they do not have to solve the problem of rescuing the perpetrator of the terrorist act. Secondly, the danger disappears that the perpetrator, falling into the hands of the special services, will betray his accomplices. The psychological effect of such acts increases many times over, because the terrorist did not even spare his own life, which means that his organization is ready for literally anything. In addition, the recruitment of supporters is facilitated by creating an aura of "martyrdom", especially among young people who do not yet have clear life orientations and experience.
In order to force a person to act as a suicide bomber, there are a number of methods based on physical, psychological and medical impact. Potential suicide bombers are chosen from among impressionable, weak-willed people, pronounced "followers" who can be psychologically broken by making them an obedient tool in the wrong hands. They are taught that by committing a terrorist act, they will not only accomplish a holy deed, but will also prove their courage, glorify and immortalize themselves.
A fertile environment from which future suicide bombers are recruited - religious fanatics. They are promised eternal heavenly bliss if they destroy the infidels at the cost of their own lives. At the same time, the very concept of “infidels” by the spiritual mentors of terrorists is interpreted extremely broadly: they include even co-religionists who do not approve of the extremely radical views and methods of leadership of terrorist organizations.
In addition, many suicide bombers were born and raised in very poor families. They see no way out of poverty and go to their deaths, having received assurances that their loved ones will then be provided with material assistance. And, as a rule, after a terrorist act, the relatives of the offender really receive a significant (by their standards) amount of money, both from the leadership of the organization and from all kinds of sponsors.
Finally, women are often used as suicide bombers. For many peoples, a woman who has lost her husband is still considered an inferior creature. She is obliged to give her children to be raised by her husband's relatives and independently arrange her personal life. Therefore, the widows of militants, accustomed to unquestioning obedience to men, sometimes become easy prey for the organizers of terrorist acts.
